These terms govern your use of Kindaas, Kindness as a Service. They are intentionally plain because this is a kindness project, not a legal labyrinth.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Kindaas API (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after any update to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Permitted Use

You may use Kindaas freely for personal, commercial, and non-commercial projects — including integrating it into applications, bots, websites, internal tools, and automated workflows.

You may display kindness messages to end users in any context that is honest, constructive, and well-intentioned.

If you use the /personalizemessage endpoint, do not send sensitive personal data, credentials, payment information, or regulated health information.

Prohibited Use

You may not deliberately abuse or overload the service infrastructure, re-package and sell the raw API responses as a competing kindness API, or use the Service in any context that promotes harm, harassment, or unkindness.

We reserve the right to block or throttle clients that violate these restrictions without prior notice.

Fair Use & Rate Limiting

Kindaas is a free service maintained on good faith. No API key is currently required, but hard rate limits are enforced on some routes to keep the service available to everyone.

As of June 3, 2026, the public limits include /personalizemessage at 20 requests per minute and / and /docs at 60 requests per minute. These limits may change without notice as the service evolves.

Be kind to the server, just as the API is kind to you. Excessive automated traffic, scraping, abuse, or attempts to bypass these limits may result in throttling or blocking.

Disclaimer & No Warranty

The Kindaas API is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees of uptime, availability, or the suitability of message content for every context.

Kindness messages are curated to be broadly positive and inoffensive, but individual interpretations vary. We are not liable for any outcomes arising from the use of these messages.

Kindaas is not a medical, mental health, crisis, or emergency service. Do not rely on it for professional advice, diagnosis, treatment, or urgent support.

We may update these terms at any time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

You may

  • Use in commercial and personal projects
  • Integrate into apps, bots, and tools
  • Display messages to end users
  • Build on top of the API freely
  • Use the public endpoints within the documented limits

Please don’t

  • Abuse or overload the infrastructure
  • Re-sell API responses as a product
  • Use in harmful or harassing contexts
  • Send excessive automated traffic
  • Submit secrets or sensitive personal data to /personalizemessage
